Vedic scriptures ( the Vedas) of the Hindu religion have been discovered within archeological unearthings which have dated to a time long before Christ’s birth. These scriptures were written through man using metaphor and allegory so man of the time could grasp the intent and essence. The compilation of the Vedas is known as the Upanishads and are reported to have be een given to man by the direct experience of God. The name applied to the Supreme is Brahma. Scriptures always define a Spiritual Hierarchy, and the Vedas are no exception. Scriptures have, and do, come from One Source and they describe the Spiritual relationship we have, through the metaphor of heirarchy, as aspects of God. The essence of their message is the Way to God and how to exist and behave with each other while we are in the material confines of this body, according to the Will of God.

I have noticed a correlation between the arrival of the “New” scripture and the severe distortion of the previous scriptures as man’s reinterpretations and distortions of the Spiritual truths of one scripture defy the Will of God.  A “New” scripture arrives as a message and clarification or, more accurately, as a correction.  The “new” scripture comes, first in thought; then in writing. The distorted interpretations of previous scripture by man  have become so dogmatic and codified that no clarification or change in the interpretation is possible, thus, a “New” scripture is provided by the direct experience of God.

The message of the scriptures have alwyas been the same. It can be no other way since God is changeless and always will be so. Still, history has shown that “New” scriptures bring much dissention and conflict. The previous scriptures, having been so misunderstood and misinterpreted, justify man’s allowance for religious war. The rationalized grounds for war have been an egoic result of man’s arrogance and hubris, rather than a conflict of scripture.

Since all Scriptures come from the One Source, named God, and they all point to the path back to God and the way to live with fellow man, there must be a disconnect between man and God. Why is the Spiritual message missed? Does the veil of ego shroud the Truth? Man attempts to turn the metaphors and parables into laws and commandments. In so doing, man declares war upon himself and his fellow man.

God is, has been, and always will be Love. There is no God but God. The ways of man and man’s wars reject that notion. The Kingdom of God is as close as our breath; why can’t we see?
